Leslie Edgar is a passionate and adventurous South African whose life journey has been shaped by a deep love for sport, personal resilience, and a drive to explore. Growing up in South Africa, he was active in a variety of sports, with golf quickly emerging as his primary focus. By 16, Leslie was a scratch golfer and soon after represented Western Province, leading to a scholarship with the Ernie Els Foundation. His golf career took him to the United States, where he worked and played at prestigious country clubs including Addison Reserve (Florida) and Wade Hampton (North Carolina).
In 2013, Leslie faced a major turning point when he was diagnosed with cancer. This life-altering experience inspired a new path—one where he could connect with people and share his passion for the outdoors. That same year, he completed a tourist guiding course and began leading tours across Southern Africa, transforming a hobby into a fulfilling career.
Over the past decade, Leslie has guided guests through some of Southern Africa’s most iconic destinations, offering meaningful, immersive travel experiences. In 2019, he advanced his guiding career by completing the FGASA field guide course and working in the Greater Kruger area. Though the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted his work, he continued guiding private groups, showcasing the region’s rich wildlife, landscapes, and cultures.
Leslie’s journey is one of resilience, transformation, and a deep appreciation for Southern Africa. Today, he continues to pursue his dream as a Private Guide, dedicated to exploring Africa and sharing its magic with others.

About Dominique and Leslie
Some love stories begin in the most unexpected corners of the world—Dominique and Leslie’s began in the quiet, untamed beauty of the Karoo National Park.
It was 2021, on the remote side of the park where few travelers venture. Leslie had risen early, drawn by whispers of the elusive Karoo lions that roam that rugged terrain. Dominique, unknowingly in the same part of the park, was staying in the only cabin on that side with her family. Their paths crossed when Dominique and her family stopped to admire a meerkat—Leslie, ever the guide at heart, mistook the gathering for a lion sighting. After a brief exchange, they parted ways. But fate had other plans.
Moments later, Leslie did in fact find the lions, and in true ranger spirit, he circled back, hoping to share the experience with Dominique and her family. They sat together watching the lions, the silence filled with awe and a quiet connection beginning to bloom. Though Leslie had a long drive back to Cape Town ahead of him, he wasn’t ready to let the moment slip away. Thanks to a little matchmaking magic from Dominique’s mom, they managed to swap Instagram details. One message turned into their first date a week later—and from that day on, they’ve been inseparable.
Together, Dominique and Leslie share a deep love for the natural world and for discovering life’s beauty in every moment. Their days are filled with adventure—hiking mountain trails, camping under stars, surfing the Cape's wild coastlines, and diving into the vibrant rhythms of Cape Town’s restaurant and cultural scene. When time allows, they venture deeper into the wild, including a transformative seven-week overlanding journey through Kruger, Botswana, and Zimbabwe in 2023.
In March 2025, they were married in an intimate ceremony on the windswept shores of Misty Cliffs—surrounded by nature, love, and the sound of the ocean. Now, with hearts full of gratitude and excitement, they await their next great adventure: the arrival of their baby boy in July 2025.
